Anyone else sick of the "new Ireland"?

I'm from Dublin and I'm 30 years old and I'm sick of the "new Ireland" being celebrated and the "old Ireland" being denigrated. I don't see much to celebrate in constant urbanisation, road-building, an obsession with wealth and commerce, a severing of tradition, mive immigration so that the social fabric of our nation is changed completely, and a craven attempt to be "cosmopolitan" and "sophisticated" by going to fancy restaurants, copying the manners of characters on American TV programes, and reading pretentious novels about how everyone in the countryside is repressed and reactionary. We've gone from Capuchins to cappuccinos. Give me a big mug of Lyons tea and a picture of JFK and John Paul II on the mantlepiece. Yes, it's a rant. Anyone agree?
