Why is the pregnancy test negative? I'm 10 days late!?

I am 33 years old. From the time I started my period I had a clockwork schedule - every 28 days, never too heavy or too light... Then I turned 30 and started getting my period every 30-32 days but still never too heavy or too light. I am in a steady relationship. Have a 9 year old daughter who I "knew" I was pregnant with and now at 33 am finding myself 10 days late. I took a pregnancy test the other day, in the middle of the day and forced myself to "drizzle" on it. It came out negative. I know I should wait until morning but haven't had a chance since my boyfriend and daughter are both around in the morning. I am taking him to the airport tonight for a long overdue weekend in NYC with his college buddies and don't want to worry him unnecessarily. I am planning on taking another test tomorrow morning once he is gone but don't "feel" pregnant despite constipation (fun) lower back pain, some cramping, indigestion, food aversions - except milk which I crave but don't normally drink a lot of and pears for some reason. Could I really be pregnant and not "feel" it like I did when I was pregnant with my daughter 10 years ago?
