Are Part-Time jobs really that hard to come by?

So, I have been a student in the UK for close to 2 years now, and it can't really be this hard to find part time work should it? I mean yes unless I want to opt out for burger king or Mc D's, where are all the other jobs? I have a undergrad in Business Admin, A masters in finance, and currently pursuing my ACCA, I have been self employed these past 2 years, working as a stock / commodity trader, but I have been looking for a finance specific job for close to a month now (since it is a requirement for me to work in a Accountancy firm in order to get my full qualification) , to no avail, even low level ones such as an accounts istant? Are part time jobs these days really that hard to get? even with all my extensive education and work experience? any one else facing this problem?
