Why are Ramos and Compean (border patrol agents) still in prison?

They are still in prison because they are criminals and that's where criminals belong! What's so hard about understanding that!? If it wasn't wrong with what they did,then why did they try to hide it from their bosses?Because they did wrong and now they have to serve time for it.It's pretty simple!
